This is the larged EDC item I take with me to work, but it is life changing. To have this open on my desk at work and home is so much easier to use compared to my phone riddled with distractions of apps/notifications/text messages.
I used to write my daily task on my phone but the notes would often never get looked at becaused they are burried in apps on my phone, and glancing at my phone is mentally difficult to do just one thing. I have the Lochby Sidekick wallet and it's great for small quick notes, but to have A5 sized paper at all times on the desk makes it easier to jot down quick notes and read through.
On a side note, I highly recommend Otter Wax. I have used this product on both of my Lochby products with a very LOW heat iron and have ironed the Otter wax into the covers, and they work great protecting the covers. I have gotten a few scratches now and then but it adds character to it.
One gripe i do have is that the pen slot on the top left is a very tight fit for a Lamy AlStar which is my preferred pen. You can fit a Lamy Safari in that slat as the Safari's body is a tad thinner. I resorted to putting a Lamy Safari in the back sleeve above my notebook for a better fit. I wish my AlStar fit in the pen slot though as I much prefer the AlStar.
I highly recommend this product for anyone that wants one less reason to not look at their phones. It's a great accessory for my mental health.

I was a huge fan of the field notebook but had two drawbacks for me. 1) the latch made writing awkward because the back was not completely flat 2) notebook wasn’t completely protected. The field folio addresses both of those and for me its the perfect notebook. Don’t get me wrong, the field journal still gets 5 stars in my book. This one is 5+ stars

A while ago on a pen blog I saw a picture of a Lochby quattro, a quick web search and down the rabbit hole I fell….. My latest purchase is the Field Folio A5.
I work out in the field weekly and have been in search of the perfect folio notebook that fits my needs in the field, in customer meetings, on the plane and in the office. Something that will fit in my backpack, hold my other stuff and is flexible. There is plenty of space for extra pens, extra documents etc. It big enough, but not too big. The zipper, in addition to keeping everything secure, will help me keep just what I need and resist the temptation to over stuff it.
The ability to have more than one notebook at a time and swap out notebooks easily is perfect for my needs. The waxed canvas looks professional and will wear like iron. I have been on the seach for the “One Folio” and it seems I have found it. Now all I need to do is repress my need for the other colors!

Great folio! It holds my Leuchtturm1917 with room to spare. I use it for bullet journaling, and I can store a ruler, pen, and various stencils, and there is still room for a Lochby notebook and field notes. I love that the zipper lays flat and does not get in the way when writing.

I recently started keeping journals as a way to decompress from my stressful life. Having a nice place to store my journals and keep them secure and handy has excited me and kept me motivated to continue journaling each day. I especially love the pockets and the materials, and I was surprised at how much space these journals can store! I keep a lined journal, a sketch journal, a dot journal, and a calendar stored in my Lochby, one for each part of my crazy life. The materials feels nice and durable and I am excited to bring my journal with me on my travels. I also like the options of colors. I got the special ‘Bumblebee’ color because I absolutely love yellow! I keep business cards with me and stickers to personalize my notes. Word of advice: invest in a nice pen to make your journal time even more special. I bought a Pilot Metropolitan fountain pen and keep it in the nifty pen holder! There’s also room for replacement ink cartridges. The zipper help keep everything nice and secure, so nothing falls out. Overall a great purchase! Thank you, Lochby!

What can fit in the Field Folio?

Does it come with a notebook?
Yes! The Field Folio includes an A5 dot grid notebook made from Tomoe River paper. Extra notebooks can be purchased separately here.
Can it hold multiple notebooks?
Yes, as long as the combined thickness isn’t over 1". You can carry up to four notebooks using the internal elastic cords.
Does it have pockets?
Yes! There’s a back pocket for notebooks or phones, and four interior pockets for cards, pens, etc.
Is it waterproof?
The Field Folio is made of waxed canvas, offering water resistance. Over time, you may need to reapply wax to maintain its water resistance.
Can I write on it with one hand?
Yes! The built-in plastic sheet makes it rigid enough for one-handed writing.
