I received my mini field journal at the end of December 2024 and have been using at work to keep my notes, to do list and extra. I love how small it is and easy to carry in my backpack or around the office. Definitely recommend. I have several Lochby products and they are all fantastic.

Perfect size to make it an EDC for notes, drawings,etc. Plenty of places for pens, pencils, straight edge, etc. I love the fact it can hold several field books for different uses.

I love the original field journal - it carries so much. The mini field journal is just as handy, but small enough to take anywhere. I carry 4 pens/pencils, a waterbrush, 2-3 different notebooks, a small eraser, credit cards, license, etc. and it still fits in my pocket! Highly recommended.

I have the zippered pocket journal from Lochby, and while that is a great product, I needed something where I could fit more notebooks. I found an alternative product from another company that was functional, but still wasn’t quite what I was looking for. What I wanted was a pocket-sized version of the Lochby Field Journal. I had no idea this product was in development, so I was THRILLED when I learned of this product launch. It is exactly what I was looking for and hoping it would be. Does it come with a notebook?
Yes! The Mini Field Journal comes with a pocket-sized (3.5" x 5.5") dot grid notebook made from Tomoe River paper (68 gsm). Extra notebooks are available for purchase separately here.
How many notebooks can it hold?
You can fit up to 4 pocket-sized notebooks.
How many pens can I carry?
There's an elastic pen loop for 1 pen, plus you can use the internal vertical pocket and the external back pocket for extras.
Does it fit in my pocket?
It might be a tight squeeze in jeans, but it fits nicely in hoodie pockets or a bag.
Can I use it as a wallet?
Definitely! It has two hidden pockets for credit cards and larger pockets for cash. The pockets open toward the spine for added security.
Can I fit my phone in it?
You can fit a 6.1” iPhone without a case in the back pocket, but larger phones or those with cases may not fit.
What material is it made of?
It features premium-grade waxed canvas on the outside and honeycomb ripstop nylon on the inside.
Where is it made?
