I use this thing every day... It looks great over time with use... You can really cram pack this roll and it still has enough loops to secure closed... The price may seem a little steep, but I can assure the quality is well worth it, and is still cheaper than a lot of competitor tool rolls out there.

I've looked at dozens of reviews for this product before buying it, and I didn't see a lot of people using it for home improvement tools. Since I live at a small place, it makes sense that I have a small tool kit, so I bought this roll to see if I could make it fit my essentials. I've tested a few configurations so far and everyday I think of an improvement to make my life easier. Even if down the road I decide that I need more space for my tools, I can always use this for something else (EDC, art supplies, camping stuff...)
Only part that I didn't like was the buckle. The way it's angled makes it hard to close the roll when it's at maximum capacity. Other than that, I love it!!

A tool roll small enough to carry along almost anywhere, but offers so much space to organize. It's like a clown car for your gear. I can put so much inside and just keep pulling stuff out when I need it. Fantastic!

Finally decided to find a "bag" to store my outdoor cooking tools.
I found the Lochby Tool Roll and saw it was the perfect design both functionally and look.
Functionally the biggest benefit it that all the tools are immediately visible and accessible when the roll is laid out. Especially compared to a bag that is opened only from the top.
The roll including tools is now 6cm x 11cm (2.5 inch x 4.5 inch) in diameter but there is still room inside for more tools. Further expansion is also possible because of the flexible closing system with the hook.
In sense of look the waxed canvas material hints towards bushcraft which is a nice fit with my outdoor cooking purpose. But the inside material has a bit of a high tech feel to in as well.
The quality is great and I'm sure it will last for long.
I have only two tips for Lochby
1. an olive green version :-)
2. add a patch of (hook and) loop on the outside so people can customize the roll.
That would allow for tagging the roll with its function and/or differentiate the roll if you have more than one. Lochby could create some common use case patches and bundle them or sell them separately.

This has been a great find, pens don't slip, accessories space is plenty and the external lock keeps everything tight and avoids accidental slips. For the price its a good deal and I strongly recommend.

I love the feeling of the canvas in hands. I put all my pens and art tools in the roll, and it's fat and nice without feeling as if it wants to burst, if that makes sense. I love the ritual of unrolling the kit and sitting down, it makes up the space where my mind opens up to journaling and drawing and outflow.

What are the dimensions of the Tool Roll?
The Tool Roll measures 7.95" x 4.3" x 1" when fully rolled up and empty. When unrolled, the Tool Roll dimensions are 7" x 10.5".
Can it be used as a dopp kit or first aid kit?
Yes! The Tool Roll features 9 elastic loops (3 medium, 2 large, 4 small) to securely hold various items. Additionally, it has one zippered mesh pocket and three pockets behind the elastic loops for extra storage.
Why do some photos show different variations of the elastic loops?
Some images feature an older version of the Tool Roll (see the design evolution here). Our current design includes the most popular option: 3 medium, 2 large, and 4 small elastic loops.
How do you keep items from falling out?
The Tool Roll has flaps on the top and bottom to secure your items. When rolled up tightly, everything stays in place!
Can it safely hold a small bottle of fountain pen ink?
Absolutely! You can use the mesh pocket or the pockets behind the elastic loops, but keep in mind it might affect how tightly the Tool Roll rolls up. For larger items, we recommend the LOCHBY Venture Pouch instead.
