I'm always interested in seeing what other people carry with them. Which tools they use to help them get through their day. Turns out I'm not the only one. Everyday carry, or EDC, has become a popular topic over the years.
Here is my current daily carry. It has fluctuated a lot over the years. Sometimes I’ve carried more, sometimes I’ve carried less, but this is currently what I'm carrying and I'm happy with it so far.
Small, convenient, has a deep carry pocket clip, and a flipper for easy opening.
Micarta scales remind me of waxed canvas and it develops a patina over time in the same way. You can see where the oils from your hands change the coloring and stain it a little bit more in some places versus others, and I like that. It gives it a little bit of character.
Convenient for the driver with the dual bits (phillips and flat) on one side and a blade on the other, which comes out from the box pretty sharp.
I keep a larger multitool in my vehicle kit which is definitely more capable so for my EDC I don't really need much. I find that this is just enough for me.
It's always useful to have pen/paper on you. I prefer taking notes here over tapping into my phone.
It fits in the back pocket of my jeans, but when I sit down, I’ll take it out and put it on a table or in the center console of my vehicle.
I like fountain pens, so the Tomoe River paper refill is key. I have another video on my workout journal here. In that, I use a Dot Grid refill, but for everyday, I just go for the Plain Refill for maximum freedom.
I rotate between many fountain pens, but lately, the Lamy 2000 has been my go-to. The Lamy 2000 is a solid writer. The gold nib is one of the smoothest I've used, and as a piston-filler, it has a decent ink capacity.
This one has a fine nib and I'm using SBRE Brown ink.
Shoutout to Dr. Stephen Brown. When I was first learning about fountain pens year ago, I learned a lot from his channel so many thanks to him. He designed a fantastic ink.
Of course I've got my car keys. You want to be careful about showing these on social media or the Internet. Copies can be made from stills.
For my phone, I have the iPhone 13 and it does its job.
Super slim and fits in my front pocket.
I don’t carry a lot of cash on me. Just ID and some credit cards. It also has a zippered pocket in front where I can stash some coins.
I’ve always been a fan of mechanical watches. My first one was a Seiko 5 and I still think it's a really great watch especially for the price—you can't beat it.
When I started making money, I splurged on this one and this is my one and only “fancy” watch. I wear it everyday and I love it.
Last but not least, I have my wedding band of course. I've got to have this with me everyday.
So that's my EDC. Feel free to drop in the comments below what you think or what your current setup is. I'm always curious what others have in their daily carry.
